You are supposed to clean your mounts really well before using the WW. Otherwise, it won't bond well to the stock rubber.j-z wrote:yeah the 3m is $14 a tube. it took me a total of 15 mins to do all three. reason it even took that long is because one of my motor mounts i couldnt get out of the car. the nut stripped while i was trying to impact it off, and i couldnt even get it off with those grabbing sockets cause its in such an awkward position. so i was laying all up in the trans tunnel trying to squirt that shlt in there resting on the subframe. but i got it done and it was well worth the $14 and 15 mins.
At any rate, I filled mine last sunday, and installed them on last friday (It will take at least 4 days for them to dry fully)
I used Grilled Cheese's old stock s14 mounts(they were in perfect shape). First, I sprayed the hell out of them with degreaser, and scrubbed them down twice(once with the degreaser, and once in water). I then pressure washed them to get any remaining oily residue off, and dryed them out well. It took me like 1.5 bottles of Window Weld to fill them up.
After install, my motor sat a good bit higher as expected.
I cannot shake my motor by hand anymore. pulling on the motor just shakes the whole car.
I actually drifted on them on saturday, and they were amazing. Under full throttle, or revving, the motor only torques slightly. Vibration in cabin is only a little bit worse at idle.
I did the "shake test" on a guys car with nismo mounts, and they are obviously not as stiff. Window Weld is the way to go.
