engine misses under load

re 1991 240sx. I replaced fuel filter which appeared never to have been changed. I emptied what came out of the inlet of old fuel filter into class jar and there was tons of black particles. This did not solve problem. wires are fine and plugs replaced. the rotor is rusted at the tip where it would meet the contacts in dist cap. dist cap contacts are concave. i cleaned them. sounds like a quiet machine gun when I try to accelerate.

My brother found a crack in #2 spark plug wire at spark plug. He fixed it with silicone for now. high tension plug wires (4)cost $90 canadian , he said. Anyway, this solved the problem.

Interestingly, the dealer only charged $13 for the oem dist. rotor which is cheaper than idependent suppliers after market rotor. Dealer charged about double for the dist. cap , though. Independent supplier(Lordco) said none of his customers complained about performance of non-OEM distributor parts.

Can anyone of you guys tell me what kind of good spark plug wires to get and where can i get them, and the spark plugs i should get and where from, thank you for your help

nissan. They are the best wires you can get for your car they usually last over 100,000 miles with out a prob unless they get contaminated with oil which no wire would stand up too.

ok how about spark plugs, what numbers, name?? and the wires i know i could get nissan, or ngk, now is there a website i coudl get them from? Thanks

do your RPM's go up and down kinda wildly whn you try to accel? did your check engine light come on? i had what i think is a similar problem, but not sure, it was the sensor in the distributor in my case
