Ok, this is a little outrageous, but bear with me...I converted a good friend of mine over to the 240 camp about a year ago (she was driving a little ricer Civic covered in stickers), and she hasn't looked back since. Her widowed mother died a couple of months ago, since she was the only child she got quite a bit of a windfall. Long story short, she liquidated most everything but the house, and instead of investing the money, or doing something else smart with it, she now drives a gorgeous brand-spanking-new M5, and wants me to help build her 97 240 into a true monster. She's already sunk some ungodly amount into the suspension and chassis (literally tens of thousands - coilovers, links and arms, bushings, tie rods, EVERYTHING; the underside of the car is like half machined aluminum), and now has an S15 blacktop on reserve. Now, since money isn't an option, I suggested a full-on EMS, specifically a MoTeC M4, to get the most power out of the motor. BUT, I can't find *any* info on wiring up and optimizing an SR20...zilch. Closest I can get is writeups of cars that have SR20s and M4s, but the owners haven't replied. Even though it's chump change to her, I'd like to have some idea what I'm doing before I tell my friend to drop $3000 on the system...any help is much appreciated.

Call Motec.. they can give you any diagrams or info you need.

All you should need is the SR20 wiring diagram and the Motec pin-outs.

Or you could just opt for a Power FC and get excellent tunability for 1/3 of the cost and it snaps right on.

Hah, that's a good idea, calling motec...*replaces dead light bulb above head*Cost isn't really a concern though, that's why I recommended the M4. Seriously, this project is awesome, it's total carte blanche (although I'm not actually in Savannah, so I don't get to tinker with the car, I'll get pics when it's done) - anything she wants, she gets.

While I'm at it, anybody know if sparco pro 2000 seats are DOT legal, or should I (she) just get the fighter?

No one is gonna check the seats to see if they are DOT legal.

If it has seatbelts you'll pass... in fact, in Texas we don't even check the seats for what they are... we check them for proper mounting and thats it.
