engine makes a "tick" or "ping" noise

...hey guys i got a 93 240sx...its got 150km and runs really good, i got some stuff done to it...duals, intake, 2 12" sony's...and two amps and infinity aroud...but i started to notice that my car makes a ticking sound i dont know what exactly it is...and i was wondering if u guys have had a smililar problem...i dont know if its the valces need alignment..or wht...plz help me im geting worried...i got big plans with this car... =)........carribbean s13

where is the sound coming from? Engine compartment? under the car? near the firewall?
