My 94 runs very rich. Stalling, very poor gas mileage, putrid black smoke, you name it. As I've learned from reading through this forum, this can be caused by a myriad of things. Would it be possible for someone to make up a checklist of all the things I could to to improve idle, fuel mixture, etc.? It would be especially helpful if people posted links to instructions for these procedures as well. Next nice day that I have off of work, I'm going to go through my entire engine bay. Thanks in advance.

Not a Q45 Guru but the first thing I think of is the MAF,Might try cleaning it and its connector. Also make sure the air filter isnt in need of replacement

have 2 mafs sitting here.If youd like one, maybe you can drop me a small deposit. Then try it out, if thats not the issue, send her back

drop me a line, [email protected]

Also try wiggling the connector to the maf around while its running to see if the idle hanges.

Hope you are spending the intervening time reading the FSM and TSB. Then all posts by Q45tech. You will learn much.

I'll see if cleaning it works first. If it doesn't, I may be interested.

Black smoke sounds like your burning oil, check your ECU for codes first. No point throwing money at the problem tell you know exactly what it is. Infiniti require proper maintance, wich your car may have not recieved. Good luck.

when my MAF sensor plug decides to mess up on me I get black smoke to go along with the stalling out a idle and rough running. Wiggle the MAF plug with it running and note any changes like Crimson said. That's my opinion.
