I deleted my EGR System. Will it make my engine light to go on and off?

My engine light is going on and off. So most likely I think is because of the ERG delete. How can I get rid of the engine light flickering?

First, you should put the ECU in diagnostic mode and read what the code is. Assuming you have a 93 240 like is your listed car in your profile, and it hasn't had an engine swap, Its OBD1 so its not quite as easy as an OBD2 car, but not bad. You'll have to pull the passenger side kick panel out and turn a screw on the ECU to diagnostic mode. Key-on the ignition and count the blinks at the check engine light or on the ECU itself.
Here's a list of fault codes and how to read them:

Generally EGR delete shouldn't throw a CEL.

In some cases, yes. Installing an EGR delete on 2006 and up 6.0L trucks WILL result in the check engine light. In fact, it will set the check engine light on all Ford 6.0L's with software that has been updated since about 2005. This means that an EGR delete will set the CEL on most 6.0L's on the road today.

Cool story, but he's dealing with a 30 year old Nissan with a 2.4L. :fruit:
