I have a 94 Infiniti J30. I have had it for two years. I have had no problems with it until now. My J30 was hit in a hit and run. this is when it all went down hill. but any way 6 monthes after i bout it my engine light would come on and the car would run ruff. The faster i go the more the car would shake. but the light would go off after a few minutes. The only time it would stay on later is when i changed the spark plugs to Boush platnuim. but i took those out and put NGK platnuim. The only other thing i have added is a KN filter replacement. Yesterday the engine light came on and did not go off. Today i drove it to work and back and the light came on when i turned it on and does not go off. The whole time i drive it it runs ruff and losses accelaration and power. I was thinking maybe cleaning throttle body and intake system with a tooth brush and chemicals. I also thought about checking the spark plugs. but they are supposed to last 5 years. I was even thinking about changing the oil. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I drive it hard race it hard so i am not suprised some thing is wrong with it, but i just hope it is an easy fix. Also after the hit and run and the auto shop fixed my car the airbag light blinks every 3 seconds. any one know any thing about that or can help me with that??

Whoa! There is this nice convention in English called the paragraph.

Anyway, your narrative seems to be all about things that have been done to your car, but not maintenance procedures you have done for the car. The idea of changing oil seems like an epiphany for you.

Do a search on Consult. This might lead you to seek out a service facility that can provide this service for you. Secondly, when presenting a performance problem or question to the board in a clear and accurate declaritive style, be sure to include a brief summary of the maintenance history. And do read the previous posts, especially everything by Q45tech.

Welcome aboard. This board is an invaluable resource for maintining your Infiniti in as new condition and performance.

My light came on, about 2 to 3 weeks after I installed my K&N filter. I attribute it to the charging oil getting on the MAF sensor.

Before you spend any money on a consult. Buy a can of brake cleaner, take of the MAF (Be careful with the connector), and soak it real good.

I spent $65.00 the first time this happened, now I do it as a part of regular maintenance.

Doing a plenum clean is a good idea, too.

Good luck.
