engine light on help

hey wassup guys/gals, i own a 97 kouki that was converted to a 5speed, the transmission is out of a 95 and i have an engine light on, the shop said it was cuz of one of the sensors obd1 and obd2. how do i get rid of this code? ohh and ive already done a search and couldnt find my answer, other wise i wouldnt have postd.... thnx

if i'm not mistaken there's a sensor at the top of the transmission for the kouki's that wasn't there for the zenkis. That could be the source of the CEL

i have that same check engine light it the crank position sensor....my 95 is obd2 and my transmission is obd1 its a pointless sensor...u can drop ur transmission and drill a hole to put one in or just deal with the cel...im trying to figure out a way to trick the ecu....ill get back to u when i do

here's an idea. find how much resistance is across that sensor and put a resistor in place of that sensor's harness. See if that can trick your ecu into thinking the sensor's there.

thats a good idea bc if u dont know what ur doin and u play with ur ecu wiring u bound to **** something up....KERMIT RACING and me are going to fix my cel problem

Ive had my 240 goin on 4 years. anyways I can't get it smogged b/c the check engine light is on. I recently took out the bulb and it fails the visual since the light doesn't come on. I need my certificate since it passes with colors.help me out here, my friend said I can route the check engine wire to the oil light so the check engine light comes on when you put the key to ACC and it will go off since its re-routed. tell me what pins to splice b/c I plan on doing this tomorrow. show me some links to the control panel under the steering wheel please.
