okie, this just happened to me. i was driving for about 20 minutes and then the engine light just came on and then it stayed on. i thought that it would go away, but it didnt....... soooom usually it will go away in about 2 to 3 minutes and then thats the end of it. now its just on...... im kinda getting mad about this peek-a-boo light that is playing with me. i dunno what the problem might be. ive check the oil, check all the cables to make sure they are on tight, and well....... i cannot think of n-e thing else. what do u guys think it might be???

try your main ground cables to the battery. I had an eletrical gremlin that did the same thing (random check engine light, among other things). THe cable to the battery wasn't grounded to the chassis properly and it ARCED The threads right off the screw.

I would suggest pulling your ECU out and checking the codes. I have a list of the codes if you need them. If it is a faulty ground or battery then you shouldn't have any stored codes in your ECU. I am the check engine light king! If you don't know how to check your computer then Ill help you out too!
