my engine currently has 115k miles on it ( alot of road trips), and i want to start doing all the basic mods to increase hp. i have to say i am a little concerned about how many miles are on the car. does any one know how long these cars go before you start to get major problems? i love this car and i really dont ever want to get rid of it, so i want to keep it as long as possible. for some reason i think when i start adding all the mods it will significantly shorten the life of the engine. is there anything that i can do when my engine finally goes out? is there parts that can be changed that will sort of ensure the engine lasts significantly longer without doing an engine swap?

Well, it depends on what kind of mods you're planning. However, the VQ engines are known to last a long time, one of the key reasons I got a G.

As long as you aren't going Force Induction you shouldn't have a problem with hurting the engine. I have 132K on my G now (ya, I drive a lot) and these engines are bullet proof. The cars really don't have many issues. Well built
