engine knocking.

Hey all

If you take a look at my last post I was having injector problems with some sort of fluid going into my combustion chamber.

I installed my CAI that I got off eBay today. First off, when I removed the hose that goes from the instake shaft to the valve cover I got the same smell that is coming out of my exhaust.

Second... I notice when I run my car now I hear a knocking from underneath my valve covers.... bad timing? valves hitting the head?

Either way I'm shipping my car off to a mechanic this friday, just wondering if anyone had any suggestions

Probably lifter tick, or a rocker arm tick.

It's not rocker arms (the DE heads use a shim on bucket design). Are you certain it's coming from under the valve cover or is it coming from IN the engine? Does it speed up when you rev the car, go away etc.?
