Agreed.TeflonG35 wrote:The car is under warranty. You will be fine.
Did you check the oil level. I don't think the type of gasoline is the cause if you are at idle. Pinging or knocking usually occurs under load.blueslate37 wrote:My G7 has developed an engine knock. When the knocking starts my car wants to idle at 1100 + RPM's. Went to the dealer and they said ... yep you got a problem and we know about but their isn't a fix yet. Oh and don't worry it doesn't hurt anything. I was told it's in the WEL valve setup, which I might agree since it sounded high and to the rear of the engine. One thing that bothers me is I've never noticed a knock that didn't harm anything, .... I mean two pieces of metal are hitting each other!

Yep! It is under warranty. Don't worry, be happy! Check and change oil to premium brand, try another gas station such as Chevron use premium gasoline if you aren't), and then flog the car to see if it starts behaving well.TeflonG35 wrote:The car is under warranty. You will be fine.
I really don't think flogging is always the answer. He didn't even mention if the motor was broken in yet.Jacko3 wrote:
