2000 quest 155,000mi.

Sequence of events

1. 2 weeks ago oil pressure light came on and car cut off(wife was driving)i got to to the car and it started right up. Drove it home less then 2 miles and immeadiately change the oil.

2. 2 days later terrible engine knock at idle and worse when driveing.again drove it home (5 miles).

engine diagnostic said knock sensor was bad so i changed itengine still knocking and now oil pressure light on steady

pulled oil pan put new oil screen in(screen was completely blocked), cleaned pan engine still knocking.

BTW the knocking was coming from passenger side of the head closest to the firewall every time.

pulled valve cover, cleaned rocker arms. replaced all six lifters soaked and cleaned the rail the lifters ride in ( dont know the name of it)reassembled engine still kocking

BTW BTW cam lobes didn't appaer to be worn neither did the surfaces of the lifters. i replaced them because i thought some of the gunk that clogged the screen may have been trapped inside.

any ideas on what could be causing the knockin
