engine KNOCK sound?

hey what up everyone have not been on here for a minute! Well anyways got me a coupe again. so my question is that I have a small knock sound in my single cam ka it comes and goes. engine is rebuilt has maybe 300miles on it . maybe lifter maybe not getting oil? any help would be cool.

is the sound coming fro high or low on the engine?

if you think its the lifters open the valve cover and try to depress each one, if they go down easy you need to prime them....

here is my write up for it(use at own risk), warm engine fully, go for a short few pulls to redline.... cut engine off after your home,let cool a bit,crank. Most of the time that did it for me.

the sound is coming from the top of the engine. it's an auto too btw. I really want to swap it to manuel. the sound is very concerning. any help?

its probably the lifters but IDK without hearing it ....

if it sounds like a marbel bouncing around then i have the same problem...i was told its a timing chain problem

knocking.. only when you rev up a little right? not enough oil.. better check your oil pump unless its new than i dont know..that was the issue with my CA i only heard knocking at like 3000 rpm but when it was idling i didnt hear nothing

Mine does that too. although I have dohc, I'm sure its the same prob. timing chain. it might be just oil pressure or the chain tensioner. take off your valve cover and sprocket cover and if your tensioner is gunked up with oil and nastyness spray it with dw-40 and press it back and forth in and away from the chain. do this til it moves freely. then put it all back together. should be ok, its not anything serious though.

thanks everyone for the help!! It ended up being a lifter. I would just change them all right now but I'm a save my cash for a sr engine later! hahahha

I have a knocking sound too but only at idle. I had to change a leaky intake manifold gasket and after I did that it started making the knocking noise....anyone might have any idea why it would be doing that? It is a rebuilt engine with about 5000 miles on it with aries pistons, new valve job, new timing chain kit, new oil pump and water pump and pretty much everything else was replaced with oem parts.

if its rebuilt, it maybe piston slap during warm up and cool down but i doubt thats it.

my engine is getting rebuilt...now im starting to get worried because of all the problems with new rebuilt engines....any suggestions on what i should teel the rebuilder
