Engine jolts

So When I'm revving up my engine hard going down a road, I notice it jolts a little bit between 4500-6500. It's not super bad, but a little annoying sometimes. Could this be caused be a stretched or loose timing chain? Or maybe just a fuel issue. It doesn't cut out so I wasn't thinking fuel. 150,000+ on motor, timing chain Unknown. Any Ideas?

I had the same problem in lower rpm's.. i adjusted my timing a little and it helped, but i need a new distributor and it will be fine. Check ur spark plug wires, distributor, and plugs.. and if all good then check for fuel problems..

What do you mean a "jolt"?

Does it kinda feel like a vtak kicking in? If so, it could be a timing issue or timing chain issue. Try Checking your timing. Definitely start with checking the plugs/wires/distributor though.

The acceleration in the RPM range isn't consistent. It does kinda have a little vtec feel to it. But it kinda stutters to.

Jolt as in is goes faster or it falls on its face?

By jolt, do you mean it feels like it's hitting it speed limiter way too early in the RPM band? Cuz that's what mine is doing...

sounds like it's skipping a spark, not quite sure, is it an auto or manual?

It's a 5 speed and a KA. Well 4500-6500 acceleration pics up. It doesn't fall on its face. As the acceleration pics up it also will stutters a little. It may be from the sub-frame bushing being $hit. I'm putting solids in soon. Actually I'm putting in a cool new sub-frame with all kinds of gussets in the weeks spots.But any ways, the stutter isn't as bad as you guys might think. But I'm just trying to get problems out of the way before they become big problems. I will be revving the crap out of this motor.
