I just purchased a 95 SE w/76k miles and everytime I start my car the engine seems to jerk noticeably. But it does not seem to affect any idling or when car runs on the road. Any ideas?

like while it is starting it seems to move from side to side and up and down? that is normal. as long as it smoothes out at idle your good.

try accelerating and let go of the throttle but don't brake... if you feel your motor get pulled towad the front you might have a broken mount. check your mounts if youy can

I will double check, but I believe so. So this is normal for a car with this many miles? Seems like the whole car jerks though, but it does smooth out at idle.

yeah, its normal for any car. go look at a 2002 and up 2.5 altima. they do it real bad brand new. that brings us to a point that just agrivates the issue. big cylinders. 2.4 liter four cyl=vibration.

Thanks again. I posted also on the KA section and some were suggesting it could be the motor mounts too.
