So I bought a 240 that was sitting for about a year in a junk yard. When I got it, I was doing an oil change all the oil that came out was like mud, it didn't look like oil at all. so i change the oil and filter, and I do a radiator flush and looks like the same stuff came out too but with water. Turns out the radiator was bad so I got a new one. Flushed it and the water is clean. I go back to check the oil and there is no difference in the oil, it's all disgusting. Today I was guna take the car to get it inspected and a giant smoke cloud came out of my exhaust and engine. I know that my air flow meter sensor is acting up and always cutting my engine off. Any help guys? Is there any hope for my engine? or should I start looking for a replacement engine?

Get yourself a Service Manual or have a mechanic friend help you check the usual suspects, block for cracks, headgasket, warp-age etc. Might be alot of things. A regular service manual from Chiltons or Haynes combined with the Factory service manual and tools... lots of tools will help you also. Ive seen classic enignes restored so give it a go, (1940'S) MODEL T'S, Caddys etc. Hope is always up to you!

What repairs have you made on the car so far other than change the oil and radiator? For a car sitting at the junk yard for a year, I am surprised it even started. Also I would imagine the car had some other flaws for someone to just junk it.

New radiator and thermostat. The front end was wrecked, cracked windshield, but I did replace the bumpers and fenders. I reckon it's a blown head gasket. I am going to replace that as well as clean my engine from the inside and clean my oil pan.
