do you have a boost gauge on your car, if so check it and see where the vaccum on the gauge is at..if its high or near 0, chances are you have a vaccum leak...best way to check for a vaccum leak is get a few cans of brake clean and spray around all the vaccum lines, intake manifold, throttle body and if you have vaccum lines going into the cockpit check and make sure they are still properly conenected...i think you def have a vaccum leak..the IAC valve is a huge cource for a vaccum leak if its not closing properly. the reason for that is that the hose going to the intercooler pipe is outside the intake manifold track...if you have the means to clamp off the hose, try that to see if the engine changes the idle. if it does chances ar eth IAC valve is not closing properly.
also i would perform a leakdown test, check compression and also while cranking when its cold, remove the raciator cap and see if see bubbles or a coolant shooting out...if any of the above is happening then you coudl have a head gasket problem
