hey everybody,

weather is starting to get a little warmer here in Chicago so we decided to try and get the car up and running... a little history

before i put it away from the winter my battery fell over in the back of my car and acid had spilled. It was clearly visible that the acid has gotten on the connections for the fuel pump. Naturally since the car didn't start after this had happened we figured the wires got fouled up. When you would turn the key to ACC, you can hear the fuel pump prime but when I try to turn the car on, nothing.

Well today we replaced the wires and tried to start her up and we are still having the same problems. When spraying starter fluid into intake, the car will start up (then die obviously). We took out the hose right before the fuel rail and after the fuel pump and threw it into a jar. Fuel comes out when priming and when starting.

car is a 1990 KA24ET with new 550cc injectors.

Any ideas on what can be the problem? ECU? Fuel rail?

Thanks for any help and reading the long post,

Tomek

yea but when i unhooked the fuel hose going into the fuel rail and checked to see if there was any fuel coming out when trying to crank the car and there was. The fuel pump is a Walbro

We were thinking that when the battery fell over and started spilling acid, that the weird voltages being sent to the ecu may have screwed something up. Can anyone confirm?

Seriously doubt you floping your battery would dammage the ECU.

So your injectors arnt spraying is basically the problem here? Have you taken the fuel rail off the car and cranked it to verify this?

just verified this, and not a single drop of fuel came out. Had an extra 550 laying around, and hooked it up and sprayed real good.

Not sure what exactly happened, we think that when the battery fell over in the back the positive lead hit a bare spot in the trunk (no carpet back there) and the short maybe held the injectors open and burned them out? not sure, either way they are done for. Looks like im gonna have to order a new set. Any suggestions? Was looking at Deatschwerks maybe.
