i posted a few days ago about a problem i had where my 91 240sx was making a strange rattling noise at high rpm some people said it could be the timing chain or guides i removed the guides and was very pleased that my engine no longer knocked at idle but i'm still getting noise at high rpm. if i stab the throttle in first gear it runs perfectly until around 6k rpm and then i get a loud rattle if a shift and stab the throttle again it stops until high rpm again. otherwise car drives fine under normal load and daily driving. the only thing else i can think of that may cause this could possibly be the knock sensor.... has anyone had this problem or know anything about it help would be greatly appreciated.... i have no cel's and the car is 100% stock

don't rev it over 6k...

what about 2nd gear? 3rd gear?

is the noise the same regardless of load (i.e. full throttle or part throttle) @ 6k?

the rattling noise doesn't sound like little metal balls in a tin can does it? you probably want to be more specific in describing the noise - or if you can record it, even better - cars make lots of different rattling noises.

partial throttle full throttle does not make a diff it just always does it at high rpm

considering that is so near redline I would assume you are expecting too much of your car's engine...that or something's wrong with it... but at 6k... I think it's just the strain that you're hearing...

+1 in stock trim from my experience the engines don't like to go above 6k. The noise sort of undoes me.

What's up Jay haha.

Since this is happening at the same rpm all time, it's probably just a resonance issue, like a heat shield rattling or something.
