well i went kae-t about 3 weeks ago and did a compression test 1 week after boosting and it was 175 across all 4. did a compression test on week 2 and it will still good. did a test today and all 4 are around 120 now. i am ****ed. how do you perform a leakdown test? i think it may be a HG since all the compression numbers are about the same on each cylinder.

Run more boost.

God has blessed you with lower compression.

Leakdown tester and a good air compressor.

since all the numbers are almost the same do you guys think i may be a valve stuck or something like that. i could hear a faint whistle sound after my BOV would release. could hardly hear it but it never did that before. and it sounds like i have an exhaust leak but i dont. i checked all my pipes and they arent leaking.

leakdown would show it. run pressurized air down each cylinder with compression tester hose and air compressor with regulator and see where the air comes out.

if it crosses cylinder to cylinder, then ring lands could be shot. if it comes out of the exhaust ports, then the valves are somehow opened, etc.

it is alot lower than before. 170 vs. 120 but they were even across each cylinder as you mentioned. hmm.

I don`t believe that all cylinders are dead and reading exactly the same thing. My believe is that you are not turning over 300rpms. 300rmps is required for proper reading. I think it indicates your battery is low in charge or starter is going bad.

i have been running 10psi and it was pulling great all the way to redline. then i put my exhaust on and a new o2 sensor and retuned it then did the compression test and it is really low. my battery was at 13.4 volts and the starter is good. it wont really pull past 4k rpm's and it seems like i am only running about 5psi but the gauge goes up to 10psi. i was running 11 a/f so idk what is going on. it just dies off after 4k rpm's.

it idles fine. no smoke at all. no oil on the ground or in coolant. i have to get a leakdown test done then i will see what is wrong. it sounds like i have an exhaust leak but i dont. sounds like a bit of air pumping out of the exhaust flanges but there isnt.

Are you runnign an external WG? If so check the gasket. Mine blew out and cause serious turbo lag.

nope its internal wastegate. i am going to get a leakdown test done today and find out what is wrong. i could hear a puffing sound comming from the engine bay while it was running but i couldnt find out where from. i am hoping its only a valve stuck or something.

The valve being stuck open means it may be bent. But you lost compression across the board. I don't think its a vakve train thing.

I actually think it may have been a bad gauge. To have the exact same compression on a motor is a good thing. But if the engine is worn, you won't get the same readings.

defintly make sure you have a charger on your battery so that the starter is turnin it at full speed and not a slow groggy turnover. This will definitly effect results.

well i got the leakdown test done today and another compression test done. i got 135-135-140-140 1-4 cylinders. they did the leakdown test and we could hear air comming out of the oil filler cap meaning that it is getting by my rings. he first checked cylinder 1 then 4, which were the only ones leaking air. cylinder 2-3 werent leaking air out of the oil filler hole. whats the deal with that. time to upgrade stuff again. the air comming out was not very strong at all. i asked if it could be a cracked ring land and they said there is only one way to find out. so i will be pulling it all out and taking stuff apart again. i only got 3 weeks of boosting out of this damn thing.
