Hey guys i plan on buying the stage 1 IAP turbokit. but im not sure if my car can handle it on stock internals. my car has been well maintained and only has 108k on engine its a 92 SE. how much boost will i be able to run off of the stock internals with out be scared that my engine will blow.

I, personally, wouldn't boost much into the double digits. IAP stage one will work fine with stock internals.

fuel and timing is all you have to worry about... dont cut corners with these things or you will end up with a blown motor quick! trust me, i know

yup. Many peopel running 15lbs.After that poitn depending on your setup you are close to 350+ and that's where parts can start to break. Pistons are only good to 400hp but being at 350rwhp constantly could break them as well. Up till that point as long as your timing is correct and you don't have detonation boost away. I have the IAP kit and will be turning up the boost as soon as I get MY BTM and boost gauge in. Don't forget you'll need a new clutch my lasted 2 days.......too much power

I would check the compression and leakdown on your motor right now.

108k isn't really that much for a nissan, so as long as your compression/leakdown is in spec, you should be able to make 350hp without worrying much as long as you don't cut corners on fuel/timing.

thats sounds good. so its safe to run up to 15 with stock internals as long as im not constantly doing it and if i have the right fuel and timing done. oh by the way Florida240sx did u get your car dyno tuned yet. do u think after i get the kit installed with all the proper fuel and timing it would help alot if i got it dynotuned.

I'd be hesitant to boost 15psi for too long.. I know a couple people on NICO have had 15psi forever on stock internals, but I'd stick with 10-12psi tops, I don't want a blown engine to deal with!

10 psi on stock internals will be fine! just remember timing and fuel. get msd BTM to retard timing in boost and a set of 370cc SR injectors with SAFC2 to tune your fuel.

10psi *should* be too much for 370cc injectors for most turbos...that number keeps getting tossed around as a "safe" boost for 370s...and that's not the case for you 'average' KA-T with a decent sized turbo.

A KA in good shape with a T3/T4 should be making ~250rwhp by 8-9psi AT THE MOST.

10psi will blow the things up...that's ~260rwhp or more, and too much for little ~35lb/hr injectors.

Just as an FYI...for the newbs.

So..."240_l3oi" - If you want more than ~250 at the wheels (more than 8-9psi), you need 555cc or 50lb injectors and better tuning.
