I am working on getting all my connections done and routing the harness the correct way...I have a couple questions but right now I am wondering if I wired my alternator harness right. The wires currently run around the outside of the motor mount and make like a 270 degree turn around to the rear side of the alternator. There is a small section that touches the heat shield on the header. Will this get too hot? And is this the correct way to run the wires or should they go inside the motor mount bracket? I will try to post some pics but my phone isn't saving pictures for some reason lately. If you guys can help, or even just take a look under your hood at the wires that go down to the alternator, that would be SUCH a huge help.

Thanks!

Hi Ethan. The Alt harness should go behind the motor mount bracket, then turn up the side of the exhaust header. Mine is a TT, but I can show you a pic that I took. There should be a bracket that mounts in front of the header and heat shield. The Alt harness clips to that with one of those round harness clips. That should keep it from touching the heat shield.

Here is the pic, it's small because I loaded them to photobucket. In the pic, the harness is not attached to the bracket. But if you look at the bracket, you can see the remainder of a black clip that broke. It attaches to the bracket through a hole in the bracket and then clips around the harness to keep it steady.

I hope this helps...

I also re-routed the alt harness where it goes to the transmission. I moved it to just above the bottom of the oil tree. That way when I change oil, it won't run into the harness. Since it was new, I wanted to keep it looking nice. It worked out well that way too.

I don't remember where it came from but I think that was where it would've ended up anyways :)
