Ok, so i drop the engine in today with the STM mounts. I was pretty scared they werent going to work at all with the problems we have all been having dealing with them, and sure enough, theres some problems. On the plus side, the mounts do hold the engine.

First off. The biggest problem is that the front of the oil pan is touching the sway bar. It looks like i need to move the engine about another quarter inch to half inch back. This picture is looking from the ground up

Second, with the engine bolted into the mounts and the transmission unbolted, the shifter wants to sit a little to the right.

The steering shaft touches the downpipe a little bit. This is hard to see in this picture thought.

here are the measurements from using the mounts

Dropped to:

From the firewall:

and heres a general picture of how it sits:

The steering column and the transmission(while may line up fine if i just bolt the transmission mount in) can be jimmyed around to fit fine. But I need to clear the sway bar more. Im guessing the only way to fix this is to redrill the mounts a bit correct? Any feedback or sugestions are more than welcome.

your shifter is sitting to the right because of the downpipe contactin the steering shaft, i had the same problem. needed a custom DP

you can just file out the mounts to move the engine 1/2 inch to clear the sway bar if you want.
