Engine idles horribly, SOHC help?

I have a 89 hatch with a troublesome motor.After i start it, the engine shakes badly and acts like it's gonna stall.if i rev it past 2k it stops shaking and sounds fine..

what's the problem?

The list of posible problems is too long to list.

Start with a basic tune-up. That will solve a lot of problems with relitvly little effort.

If a tune-up does not help then return and tell us exactly what you have done to that point.

BTW: include a new fuel filter in that tune-up.
