I have 08 3.5 Altima Coupe. I added a short ram intake and Nismo Cat-Back. I've notice my engine idle is a bit rougher now. I have a few questions. 1) has anyone experience the same idle issue. 2) is this typical due to the mods done to this car? 3) how can I, if it's necessary, correct the idle? Please HELP! I'm just a bit concerned.. Thanks for any help given.

Did you mishandle the MAF or install it incorrectly? That would be my first guess. Second guess is that maybe you didn't fit the intake tightly leaving a slight gap at the TB.

I've had this problem recently but it only showed up about a month or two after installing headers and about 6 months after installing intake.

My rpms look about the same but I can feel my seat, shift knob, door panel etc vibrating slightly.

Try completing the Idle Air Volume Learning procedure in the FSM (more specifically ec.pdf). This procedure should be completed after cleaning the MAF sensor, installing a new intake, cleaning an especially dirty filter, etc. This should return your vehicles idle back to factory specifications.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Hey Rob, the vibration you mentioned is best to what I am experiencing, it's not serious like a miss-fire rather a vibration so, perhaps it's due to the mods. I looked at FSM and funny thing they mention is that battery must be at a good charge, funny because this morning my battery died. I replaced it and it seems to idle a bit smoother. I will try the other suggestions and advise. One thing for sure, with these mods, what a kick in the pants of a ride this made! Thanks for all the help

As FYI - I tried the Idle Air Volume Learning procedure, and that really took care of my problem. Just wanted say thanks for the info.

This may be a stupid question, or it may be because it was a really long day at work but my car also has had this issue since the temperature has started to rise and I'm driving the AC on a regular basis again. Sorry, rambing ... I would also like to attempt this fiz as well. Where did you guys get the steps for the Idle Air Volume Learning procedure?

Thanks for the help.

i have an intake+y-pipe+catback exhaust..my idle was kinda ruff, i recently bought the SBD Grounding kit and that seemed to get my idle calmed down a little bit..thats about all that grounding kit did for me, NO OTHER BENIFIT it seems.

Stock batteries are junk for our a/c's tho, i had mine replaced not long after taking delivery.

It's cool. Your "purchase" was the most difficult I've dealt with in 2 years. About half way through it, I was about to give you your money back and cancel the order.

It's all good. Some of the 6mt folks swear by the kit, others say nothing improved. I try to "warn" them all that the effects are much less prominent on the 6mt than on the CVT.

Hi, not sure if you got your answer about you wanting procedures for Idle Learning? On this site search for the Manufactures Repair Manual. It a complex manual but, there is a section for these steps. I'm sure you're not lazy, this site tends to be a bit overwhelming, I feel ya' .
