engine hesitation? almost stall!

so this winter i embarked on a few projects like replaceing my head gasket and removing emissions from the intake manifold........today i fired it back up got it running with just my header on cause i plan on putting on a full exhaust but i started it it idled great from what i can tell for the 30 seconds it was running but as soonb as i stepped on the gas it fell flat on its face...so i let off the gas and it came back up to idle and remained running.....the only things i did were remove the charcoal canister and remove the egr valve and put on a vacuum plate. Also took off the egr selenoid.....anyone have any ideas as to why it falls flat on its face but doesnt die?

if you had the head off sounds like a timing problem i would check over all that again

maybe you havent heard but its common to remove egr and charcoal canister, prepping for turbo maybe i dunno.And kill the caps your lack of respect and yelling is unappreciated and for your info it was a timing problem
