So one day i was driving down the road at about 60 miles an hour. And then i heard a knocking sound. So we stopped and then i stalled out. Later on, we had a buddy stop by, and he said it was the rod bearing. And so i busted a rod bearing in 1991 240SX.Yall think it would be better to rebuild the engine or replace the engine or junk the car? Also, how hard would it be to do an engine swap, if i had the proper tools?

cheapest thing to do if find a junk donor car and transplant the same engine in, if not you could do a engine swap if you want, it just takes time and money.

Yeai put a 97 engine, in my 93 hatchwhen i did it, i swapped everything off my old block and and put it on my new motoronly thing that will give you trouble is the distrubutor; which is hard 2 time, if you don't know much about cars.

Eeeek! I hope you pulled the 93 cams out before you tossed it! =) They're better than the 97's.

I can't remember the specifics (I drive a SOHC =), but the older de cams had a more aggressive setup.

I've seen it mentioned before, might try a search. My roommate has a de and knows about it, but he's not available to ask right now =/

Sounds right, the duration is higher on the s13 cams. Especially the exhaust if memory serves. Again, I don't have a de, but I believe you can swap the cams if you want the extra hp.
