I have a 2001 Cefiro (2 litre, 6 cylinders) and it runs well except I live up a steep hill, and you have to change down to first to climb it. I've changed all 6 coils to genuine Nissan and put in new plugs. Didn't help much. Lately the engine developed a rough throttle and missed badly when driving. My mechanic replaced the injectors with some used ones. Drives better now, but still has no power for the hill. I also have a Camry (2.4 litre, 4 cylinders) which canters over the hill like it isn't there. I also notice that since the injectors were replaced, the transmission won't switch down into first gear automatically on the hill. I have to manually select it.

What's going on?

Welcome to NICO.

Is your check engine light on? Have you scanned the computer for codes?

The check engine light went out a few weeks ago after I replaced three non-genuine coils with genuine ones, but that hasn't helped the power situation. I had done 2 scans, one when I thought the transmission was the problem. I got a p1320 which I thought was the coils, but I'm beginning to think there's something else wrong with the electricals. The transmission is OK, but the car almost never starts on the first crank, but almost always starts on the second. I had pretty much gotten used to it, but you know what, rather than wonder about what the problem might be, I'm gonna do a full engine scan. There has to be something wrong when the engine simply won't start on the first go
