hey guys, i need help with my ka-t project for my 95 s14

I'm in the middle of removing the stock harness and prepping everything for a clean Microtech LT8 install by using Microtech harness. I've managed to pull the engine harness out the firewall (what a ***** that was) but now i'm a little stuck. Check out the pics. I tried to take best pix possible but its not easy.

In the top right you can see the part of the harness (black) that connects to the engine. In the middle bottom you can see the ecu connector and the wires running to it and on the left you can see a few white connectors that are connected under the dash close to the ECU. The rest of the harness (top left) runs down the engine bay to the transmission, abs and the fuse box.

Here's a closeup on those connectors that are part of the engine harness, which i had to unplug to be able to pull the harness out.

I want to rip out as much of the stock harness as possible without losing any stock functionality such as AC, ABS and anything else that might run through the harness.

Can anyone give me some general pointer on how to move ahead with this harness removal, without screwing anything up?

What are those connectors for in the 2nd picture? I'm studying the fsm, but sometimes it's a little hard to figure out whats what.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

to figure out the connectors you will need a wiring guide to determine which wires are connected to that specific plug.

i know you can get them somewhere around here, look forthe FSM. I still havent found one that downloads to my mac.

I recommend leaving everything wrapped and removing the entire harness. because if you do that the harness will still retain its shape. to do that you will have to leave it wrapped. then you can unwrap whatever you need. when the harness is still in, it becomes so confusing to understand what is where and what goes where. with a good wiring diagram you will be able to trace everything form the ECU out.

I hope this helps

So back from the dead... did anything ever happen with your harness?

I am in the same situation right now... Ripping out the old, trying not to rip out something useful by accident... There were also some big plugs right next to the passengers side headlight, where the stock battery location is... I dunno if they do anything, but they looked as part of the engine harness....
