Engine harness interchangeable?

I have an 89 s13 with a cut engine harness and a manual transmission. I also have an 89 parts car with an auto transmission. Can I use the engine harness from the automatic in the car with the manual?

OK, I'm taking the engine harness out of the automatic hoping that I can use it in my 5 speed car. Am I wasting my time, or will it work?

it shouldn't be a problem...most people who swap automatic to 5spd keep their automatic ecu, so the harness should be the same.

I thought the ecu's were not interchangeable. The manual car will be a track only car - no lights, bells, buzzers, power anything etc. Can I get rid of all wiring except power supply, ignition, and everything that comes out of/goes into the ecu?

Tough call, but usually track only cars also have some sort of tuning to go along with them, so you should be able to set up basically whatever you want.

You will DEFINITELY need MAFs, Ignition, CAS (if applicable), injectors, tach signal (I think), coolant temp sensor.

There may be more, but I can't think of any right now.
