The time has finally come, guys. The engine and transmission is going in my car (finally). My dad, a friend, and I will be doing it today after I get out of school at 2:30. wish me luck and post anything you may think I need to remember when doing the swap.

Things to remember

before cranking or starting the car, disconnect your return oil line form the turbo, disconnect either your ignitor or fuel pump fuse and make sure there is oil in the engine, keep cranking the engine until you see oil coming out of the return line, once this happen. connect the return line back and install the fuse or the ignitor and you can start up the car(this way you won't seize the turbo)

when it starts, don't rev it up, as the top part of the engine is dry out oil, let it run for about 30sec or so.

Good luck

Here is an update for anyone who is interested.

The engine is in and sitting pretty. The trans is in but not totally connected to the engine. Shifter sits absolutely perfect in the opening. Harness and ECU should be in this coming week then a few more parts and she'll be on the road!

Does anyone have the brackets that attach the block to the trans? My dad didnt know what they were and accidentally took them to the scrap yard. :help

Pics should be up sometime this week after I get her all cleaned up.

If you've still got the ones off the old motor, they should work. Not sure about it though as I've never tried it.

Regarding engine priming: I've read poeple reccomend that you pull the plugs, and turn the key,( ~30 seconds ) so the starter motor drives the engine under very little load. This gets oil to the whole assembly. Not sure if you also disconnect the fuel pump to do this.

This was on the SR20DE forum awhile back, when people were wondering why everyone was spinning rod-bearing number three within 50 miles of a JDM swap.
