alright well i installed two electric fans not too long ago, i noticed my engine temp is gettin too hot if i sit at idle for a long time...when i did the install, i also wired up an adjustable thermo switch with its own temp sensor....i think i may have put it in the wrong place, does anyone know if its supposed to go by the upper radiator hose or lower radiator hose? i cant find the instructions either...thanks for any help..

I put mine on the upper hose. I think that the best place for it would have been the bottom one tho'. You'd just want to set it to come on at a lower temp. Putting it on the bottom makes more sense b/c if the coolant is going through the radiator and is still coming out hot, you'd want the fan to turn on and do something about it. Not sure where you are "officially" supposed to mount it tho'.Are your fans running continuously when it's even a little over normal temp? If so, they may not be moving enough air or at least not moving it through the radiator. Are they mounted flush against the rad. or are they set off from it? If they're not running then adjust the temp down. Make sure your sensor is touching the hose by zip tieing it or something, this will help it feel more of the heat.

well i remember the instructions saying to put it thru the radiator and thats what i did, i put right near the upper hose...but i agree, i think it should be near the lower hose...i cant tell if the fans are running continously while im driving...i mounted them flush on the radiator, zip tied on all four corners on both of them, both setup as pullers of course...is it better to zip tie it around the radiator hose then?

If it's like mine then yeah, I'd strap it to the hose. Mine is like a long metal tube that gets bigger at the end. I don't know why they would have you put it through the radiator, I'd think it would jack up your fins.

The upper hose will be hotter, since the thermostat is located in the block at the lower hose outlet. The OE temp sensor is located right at the end of the upper hose on a pipe, that would be the best place for it. I'd be wary of the fan's thermostat, I've seen numerous ones from all different manafacturers burn up or die. I intend to run straight off the OE wiring with mine so that it's reliable.
