I have family in Japan and sent my sister to buy an engine gasket kit for me. She said the dealership there couldn't understand what she was trying to explain to them. So I dug into the stickies and found this part# 10101-56E25. Does anyone know if this is the correct part # for a complete gasket kit for an '89 180sx ca18det?

I dont know about over there, but over here, the complete gasket sets were discontinued and you can only buy the gaskets individually.

Just wondering, why not just get a gasket set here from your local autoparts store? It costs a little less than the OEM one and you still get all the parts you need.

I tried ordering one here and found out it was discontinued. I want an OEM one because the quality. I have seen some of the aftermarket kits and the quality just wasn't there. I bought an OEM kit for the SR and it was great.

I always use genuine as UK dealerships still supply them. There are actually 3 different part numbers for the gasket set because of small differences in the gaskets but all of them fit any CA18DET. I'll check my boxes of gaskets for part numbers later as they are about 25 miles away now

I think the UK ones are going to be a different part # because the intake ports are shaped differently.

why is the engine gasket set disconintued for you guys??? I can order a set anytime, but again I work at the dealership. I don't see why they would discontinue the set to the public.

It seems as though US dealers discontinue support for a car/engine 15 years after it ends production. There were a couple pieces I could not get from the dealer such as a crank sprocket backing plate because it was discontinued/no longer available. That and a few misc bolts.

If I end up not finding a source, can you order a kit for me? What;s the name of your dealership and phone number?

Just get that, and get 300ZX turbo gaskets.

I work at a Nissan dealer too, and can tell you they've been discontinued for some time now (the gasket "sets"). Maybe Canada is different... I can still get any individual gasket though, just not the whole kit.
