Engine Flapping Noise - 2001 Maxima GXE

I have a very strange noise that as far as I can tell is coming from the passenger side engine compartment. I have an automatic transmission and the noise seems to happen most often and is loudest when I'm in third gear and the rpm's are @ 2750 or higher or I'm under heavy acceleration. When just cruising you can still hear it faintly but it is much more random.

This may not be much information to go on but I thought I would at least throw this out there.

have you checked under the hood at idle to locate the noise a lil better?
