engine fans and water pumps, standard or reverse rotation?

is the mechanical engine fan standard or reverse rotation? my water pump is cracked and im replacing it and im also going to put a flex-a-lite fan in place of the bulky stock fan

I've just replaced my fan clutch the past weekend....89 SOHC

k, the fanclutch/water pump rotates clockwise if you're standing in front of the car looking in...

plus on the aftermarket POS Hayden fan clutch that leaked out the silicone fluid also has an arrow on the housing that shows the rotation of the system... I think you'll need a "puller" fanblade setup. Just match the new fanblades w/ your stock & you're good to go!

I've been meaning to go electric since this is my 3rd aftermarket unit that I've replaced. lifetime warranty still in effect sooo I'm still using it. Just a pain in da @$$ to get @ the 4 bolts w/out rmoving the fan shroud.:rolleyes

why not just get rid of the fan clutch altogether? I thought thats what flex fans did? since they flatten out at higher rpms.

i got the aftermarket 3 years ago... soo w/ no $ now, I'm taking advantage of the free replacement.:icesangel
