My 300 had the JDM engine swap...dumb *** didn't spend the money on a new harness...what a fukn tard...so now i need one..all the connectors are like burnt bacon...usless! i bet my car would run better with one. My question is..Can I install it with out pulling the engine? Has it been done before by anyone? I was wondering ..if so I can do it myself. Nissan wants 800 for the harness and 2,200 for LABOR! OUCH! Screw that....so any help would be appreciated. I can get the harness on ebay OEM for 327.00. Thanks for the help guys!

Your best bet is to just go with the new harness.

Its not easy to do with the motor in the car, but it can be done.

is there any method to doing this the easiest as possible? Any write ups? I may do one if no one has one and I have to "wing it" on this harness install

I installed my new harness with engine in. My biggest problem was getting the harness into the hole that goes in the firewall and under the passenger side of the dash. For installing i did easiest thing i could think of and laid the harness out on the engine and as i unplugged old plugs i would connect the new that way everything went where it was supposed to. No thinkin oh **** whered this go lol. Good luck

So since my 300 has the JDM motor swap....will the new harness fit properly since the JDM is a right hand drive? Will I have to cut or extend any wires?

the hole in the firewall is in the same place, and anyways the only way you'd have a problem is IF the car was jdm and you had a usdm harness and the firewall hole happened to be on the opposite side, which it isn't.

Agree. Yes, the hole is on the same side for the JDM units.

Bump. Has anyone had access with harness swap with motor in. I have searched and searched and talked to a few Z guys, and they all say it can't be done. I have a new harness & ECU I desperately need installed. If any has any info, please help

It can be done, but it's very difficult. You may as well pull the motor. The plenum needs to come off, as does the heat shielding on the firewall for the new harness. Remove the battery too, and if you EGR is still in I'd say your SOL.

It's quite easy with some massaging with the engine out.

Also not to mention how big of a pain in the a** the little clips and s*** will be to get out.

Yea If your EGR is still in place the little brackets that go around the main loom bolted to the fire wall with 10mm bolts will be a royal PITA. I haven't completely removed my harness yet (from the ECU all I have left to do is take to boot off the fire wall) because I don't want dust getting into my cab while I am painting and stuff. But I can imagine it won't be to bad since my engine is out.

Thanks guys. I'll just wait until I do my engine swap to tackle the harness.
