what does "diesels" mean? Read the top sticky about how to make a meaningful post. I will edit your thread title when you explain your situation.

If the car carries on running you have a hot-spot that is causing ingition. Start with a good tuneup, then see what happens after that.

How long does it continue to run? Does it run rough, ping, make lots of noise? It is possible that if your injectors are wired in the wrong order.

If that is the case that would cause a lean condition that would overheat the cylendars and could cause pinging and possibly a condition that could lead to dieseling BUT the car would run like complete *** when on.

Diesel is a meaningful word, its the term for when a hot spot in the combustion chamber causes the cylinder to continue firing after the ignition has been shut off.Could be build up of carbon some where in the cylinder. Thats kinda just a generic answer though...

If you could record yourself making the noise and post it im sure we could figure it out

Oddly enough, my car never used to do this untill I installed my electric fans. Now it always does it. I disconnected the fan and turned on/then off and it shut straight off, wired em back in and diesels agains. It's very odd.

I know it has to do with the fuel pump too becease that's what the fan is wired too.

Ah ha!!! when you turn off the ignition the electric fans still rotate, because of this and the fact that it is connected to the positive of the pump and still grounded; what happens is it turns itself into a genarator. As the fan continues to rotate after being shut off it generates power which continues to run your pump after being cut off.

Solution: Use a relay http://www.partsexpress.com/pe...0-070

Pin 86: Positive from pumpPin 85: GroundPin 30: Positive from batteryPin 87: To positive on fan.Pin 87a: Unused

If your fans are the problem here it's not because your fans are broke it's just the nature of DC permanant magnat motors to act as generators.

Have you tried the relay; if so what happened? If not then you should not be so quick to jump to conclusions, because i too have had this same problem with my s13; however my approch was different than the solution i gave previously...

I simpley wired mine to the output of the accessory relay found under the stock air intake box, now the fans are always on when the key in in the "acc" or the "on" position.

When the fan continues to rotate it generates voltage the opposite direction of its rotation, so in effect the positive input of the fan becomes the positive output of the "generator" feeding enoph voltage back to the positive input of the fuel pump to cause it to stay on after the key has been turned off. while this is happening the fan is spinning down and generating less and less voltage, which also caues the fuel pump to pump slower and slower untill it stops pumping enoph to cause it to fire. Also depending on how the electrical system is setup in the nissans (i dont know for sure) it is also possible that the voltage could also be feeding back into the igniton system causing an irratic spark, and fireing the fuel without a "hot spot".

A relay would solve both of these problems.
