Engine dies while moving

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

It has now happened twice at slow speed, once after going over a speed bump, once after making a U turn. Engine dies and i need to put transmission in Park and restart with foot on the brake. If it happens next while driving on the freeway, i might not be here to tell you about it.
Has anyone ever had such a dangerous problem ?
I have owned it since July 2008 and had almost no problems with it.

Take it to the dealer TODAY... Looks like your warranty is almost up.

How does it idle?
Bad gas? (pardon me)
Throttle body?
How many miles?

Idles perfect. Always good gas, sometimes Arco. Car is a DD since I bought it new and now out of warranty with 73K miles, regularly serviced and well looked. after. The sudden way it happened both times tells me it is electrical. And the fact that it starts right up with no hesitation confirms that, no ?
Tried to duplicate it but no success so far.

There was one of us that had a problem with the throttle bodies previously on here that caused exactly those same symptoms.

The information below is from my boyfriend:

Some of these cars might have fuel pump issues as well.

Join the site below there is a direct write-up/tech-paper that describes reprogramming the ECM for your exact issue on page 1 or 2.

Of those 3 possible issues above one of those should be your problem (unless you just have some thing as simple as dirty intake air filters or plugs). :bigthumb:

Thanks EXKAT for the info. I am investigating but havent comeup with any reasonably accurate diagnostic. Everything points to an electrical contact, very difficult to pinpoint right now and the fact that i cannot replicate event at will makes it worse.

I still say take it to the dealer and explain the scenarios with detail. Who knows, maybe it is something they have experienced with another EX or a G or a M or ?
