It seems like a sensor problem, I have a rebuilt 95 Ka24de in my 90 240 coupe. I have a brand new wiring harness from a 92 and a 92 ECU. From what i understand that should work together. When i bought the motor it was having an issue were if you give it gas and go down like half way, the motor starts dying out. If you feather it you can get all the way up to redline. It seems like the TPS so i changed that with a new one and had it installed by our mechanic. I have also gathered extra parts so i could test some of the sensors. I have an extra MAF, TPS, 3 ECU's. So at this point i just have to change my fuel filter and check the injectors as my last resort to what i think it could be. I know the timing is right were it needs to be and i have Nology spark plug wires and new spark plugs. The engine ran fine then one day on the road it didn't want to go anymore. I check the Fuel pump already and that works. If you guys have any suggestions for things for me to look at or if you have had this problem before and know what it may be please let me know.

Honetly...in my findings, Im not sure if this has changed since I looked last but...Nology wires are most likely the problem...try puting the stock ones back on and see if it works again!!? If that doesnt work then the rest sounds like a tuning issue.

I dont kow a whole lot about these cars in particular, im kinda new to 240 modding, but I do know cars!!!

Is the motor swap that you did a bigger motor?? If so then the other problems may be mechanical.....like the throttle body might not have a big enough idle hole to keep the car idling if the motor happens to be bigger or the cam more agressive.

sounds like what happened in my probe... check if the wires are all tight connections on the plugs and coil if there was any noticable corrosion on them when u took the wires off then that is your problem goodluck
