Periodically comments have been made about this, but I've never seen the solution. Hopefully, someone can help me.
At wide open throttle, invariably trying to pass someone, my '90 240sx dies. Downshifting seems to fix this, but it happens in 3rd, 4th and 5th. This is at about 3000 - 3500 rpm...not near any rev limiter. All electrics, etc. continue to work, the engine just dies. Engine cold, engine warm there is no difference.
As you can probably imagine, it is quite interesting when I try to quickly pass someone going 40 mph and the engine dies.
thanks.
(oldgeez is me..."driving mom's car" I have no idea what that is...my mother never owned a car, and never drove...oh well.)
