engine dies

Here's my setup

bone stock SOHC.T3 from (1986~1987) 300zxS13 side mount intercoolersome fuel upgradesStock MAFcurrently under 7 psiNo BOVhalf inch pipe? right next to O2 censor from original exhause isn't pluged in.alternator is little old

This was happening since i got my turbo installed.

When car is running cold, let say i just started my car, my car runs fine.When i push clutch from high rpm, engine won't let rpm drop less than 800rpm. All cars are like that. Engine should not turn off itself.

But after my car gets warmed up. When i stop my car at red light, engine dies. So to keep it running, i have to do 'heel and toe'. keep opening the throttle little bit while i'm pushing brake.Rpm niddle supposed to stop at 800 rpm, but keep drop like dead, finally engine stops.It seems like car need more air at idle. And idle is not stable when car warms up.

What could be a problem?

if you have a SAFC....you have to turn the dec. air settings up in the NE1 settings to get a smooth idle....however..when the car is fully warm and you have to set the NE1 settings back down or else you will stall at stop signs or light. make sure you have it set up in the first place.

also how come you dont have a BOV? you'll get surge and thats why you need more air maybe. all the air going backwards is creating resistance for the incoming air. but also in general you have to keep in mind that aftermarket turbo wont work like stock turbo. you cant just drive it hard and then throw it into neutral and brake hard. give it time and brake while in gear. but if you must brake hard for some reason, then give it gas to keep it up.

i assumed another ka-t was blown since you said "engine dies" good thing its not.

i don't have SAFC in yet.

Will the bov help with this? i have stock S13 Bov came with the smic.
