I can be driving down the road, all of the sudden the engine dies and all electrical systems are off line. not even my dome light will come on.

Other days, if I am getting ready for work, I use my remote keyless entry and it does not work. it acts like it has no power. If I wait a few minutes in either scenario, the truck runs fine again.

I replaced the battery and alternator, but my attempts to alleviate the problem have been futile.

I took the truck to a nissan dealership and they could not find any problems with a basic electrical test.

This is a 2000 Nissan Fronter XE

if anyone can help me, I would be very grateful!Thanks,-Ron

It sounds to me like bad connections between the battery and everything else. This can be a bad POS+ terminal connection but I doubt it because a running vehicle should not stall when it loses connection with the POS+ battery terminal, assuming the alternator is good and the electrical load is less than what the alternator provides.

I am suspecting the engine ground to chassis. Clean those connections and even run another ground from the engine to the chassis and another from the chassis to the battery NEG(-) if you want to rule this out. Then drive it normally for a few days and see if it happens again.

In theory, an electronic component will stop working if it doesn't "complete the circuit". It's a tad more complicated when you add an alternator to the situation. Perhaps it has a bad ground?? Clean that ground connection also..
