Ok, so I was pushing the car for a while and suddenly the engine died at about 6000rpm. Of course braking and steering got heavier. I restarted the engine while the car was still rolling, and it turned back on but the rev fluctuates rapidly between 300-700rpm, then died again.
I brought the car to a complete stop and tried to restart. Same idling problem happened again, and it died. Coolant temperature was still in normal range, and I couldn't find anything that burned in the engine bay. 3 minutes later I retried and things were back to normal
Did anyone experience this? I can only think of 2 possible reasons: (1) either there's some kind of thermostat that regulates the temperature, or (2) the throttle cable was stretched for a long time and got some slack, so couldn't hold the idle rev constant.
Thanks in advance for your input, guys.
