Thanks for the ideas.

rb26 fits. its all about the massage...

its expensive though. the swap will probably cost around $10K.

the others are cheaper.

I would turbo the ka...but i wanna get one with miles and fix it up. save on cost. make it a project car. so, saving an old engine isnt the thing, unless u think the ka will do better than the rest.

Whoa where can I get one!

2jz? Man you better start searching and reading, and then reading, learning and reading some more. The sr20 is the ideal swap for the 240sx imo, especialy if you dont have a alot of cash to blow on your car like most people. First you might want to try getting the car first;) , then take it from there.

The reason I havent gotten the car is because im trying to compare it to a z and figure out which one is better for speed and style. I know about the engines and some about fitment. This is mainly similar to a poll to see what I should do.

About 15-20 grand including the car. Im thinking I can do the RB26DETT conversion and have a car that can kill all. Ill drive it around with the ka until I get used to it so that I can handle the pure mass power of the skyline engine. I dunno. You tell me. 25det or 26dett?

wow rb26dett....Has anyone swap that in a 240 before? I know rb25 has been done numberous times...But i dont think i have heard anyone swap in an RB26. I know lilgtr had an RB26 in but did it run?...Can anyone fill me in? Sorry if i sound ignorant. heh

anyways back to the topic. 15-20 is a lot and if u want a car that can kill most cars on the street. An S13 with RB25 will do the job. Actually i think u have enough money to tune that sucker up and make 400+ hp. U will probably still have the money left to put on a body kit to make it look sweet.

I heard and seen people put rb26det's in 240's but never TT's. Everyone I seen just upgrades to a larger single turbo. I heard it was next to impossible to swap a rb26dett in a S13 while still running twin turbos. Unless you do very very heavy body and engine bay modifications.. It would be rather cool though..I would just stick with the 25.. To much lag involved with a single turbo'ed 26. Or just build up a low milage KA and turbo it and put it on the bottle.. ;)

Yep ill agree with that when i first got into 240sx couple years ago i kept thinking SR or RB. Then when i finally was going to get a 240sx a month ago i know what i wanted to do. Mod the hell out of a 91 KA24DE ;)

Nothing wrong with the KA24de esspcially when you can get a clean rebuilt one for 305 bux :D

Thats a lot of money for a 89 just so You can smash All. I am thinking any TT setup would be asking a little too much from the S13 engine bay. RB26DETT and 2JZ would probubly out of the question. I don't know if the Axles and drive shaft on the S13 can take the Abuse from the 2JZ.

You want a Small Light car that can smash All85 MKII Supra7MGTE Engine ConversionLexus V8 AFM+ 550CC injectors + Fuel PumpBigger I/C +hard Pipes3Inch Exhaust front/backMetal Head Gasket60-1 CT 26 (stock turbo upgraded)Turn boost to about 20PSi

You have a 400-450Hp car at your hand, and truts me, that will pretty much smash All for about $10,000 Including car.

Not a fan of the old supras. I liked what everyone was saying about the single turbo rb26 though. I just dont know if it would outdo the performance of a 25 with the single turbo conversion. Its all amiff to me at this point. I think Im gonna go with a 240 rather than the 300zx, but i dont wanna stick with the ka. I want my machine to stand out. SCC had an article on rb25 swaps...its just the 26 that i think would be a one of a kind

I saw yesterday a site that did a whole thing on swaps into the 240. It started with an SR20 and then put in a RB26Dett. the article ended with a 2jz that produced the best hp. Go on yahoo and type in something like ..."rb26dett into 240sx swap" and it should be like the sixth article. Dunno. Give me some feedback

Ill get a nice car and take it slow...at the beginning :)For everyone else that isnt trying to burst my bubble, i emailed the 2jz guy and he sent me a whole faq on the 2jz transplant. anyone interested in it can email me for a copy of it. Main points...12 for the kit...2-5 for install. Amazing hp

you could go the aries route with that kind of cash....go ls1, lt1, etc..

you could get an rb30det made and have like 400hp stock w/standalone computer and just bigger injectors...

you could drop a 3 rotor 20b cosmo engine and keep twin turbo...

hell you could do many crazy things w/that kind of cash....

but for God's sakes, please read before you do anything..

I know what you are saying...many ppl here tell you that's impossible and that you have to cut the firewall, and do this and that, but then again, these same ppl were saying the same things about the rb20 and 25 blocks...
