hello,

i was wandering if there would be engine damage on my rb20det engine if its running on just the downpipe? Its really loud and i just wanted to make sure its not causing any harm. i am soon planning to buy an exhaust.

thanks

If you didn't have a turbo in the way you could possibly damage valves (warping) from cold air hitting them after shutting the engine off. Very doubtfull but I've heard of it happening on non turbo engines.

I say no way in hell..

your motor would not be damage, but your ears will ;)

many people are running e-cut-out; practially open downpipe at a flip of a switch when racing and use the full exhaust for daily driving. i just hate constant loudness of the open exhaust, just loud like a mutha.
