I want to remove my engine cover to paint it but can't figure out how to get the thing off the engine. The two allen-head bolts on the top are pretty obvious but, with those removed, the cover is still held on by something in the front that I can't see. Can someone help me with this? What do I need to do once the bolts are removed? Thanks.

There is three allen screws holding the cover down. You should be able to just look and find the third. One left, one middle, one right!!

This is on the 3.5 engine. I just took another look and still don't find a third allen head bolt to remove. I see one middle left and another top right but don't find what is holding the front of the cover down. When I remove the two I see, something on the front is keeping it on. Thoughts? Thanks.

Try taking out the 2 bolts and then sliding the cover forward (towards you). Dont pull it up, slide it till it unhooks in the front and then pull it.

I tried removing the two allen bolts and sliding the cover toward me but didn't want to pull too hard...a semi-aggressive tug didn't move it. Any other thoughts from anyone who has removed their 3.5 engine cover? Thanks.

legendracer, not that I would think of telling someone what to do on a free forum, but I'd recommend that you take out that weird icon in your signature of a small child being kicked in the face. How would u like it if that were ur kid and some idiot spammed a video of that over the internet.

Still looking for help on this one...how to remove the engine cover on the 2008 3.5 Coupe. Two allen bolts are pretty obvious but something still holds the cover in place in the front...looking to find out what else I need to do. Thanks.

Come on, folks. I know some people have already removed the engine cover on their 3.5L to paint it. Can one of you tell me how to get the cover off the engine? Can you tell I'm getting anxious? I'm going to order the Injen intake as part of the group buy and want to have a bright red engine cover sitting next to it. Thanks.

Again

Look under the table of contents or index for this thread for the Field Service Manual (FSM) - the information you need should be in the FSM.

Well I emailed KPSOLJA and this is his reply. Hope this helps otherr people who is wanting to paint their engine cover.

"i did the same and was like "what is holding it"...just pull hard on thefront lower side by the radiator support. grab both sides..one on rightand other on left of the front and when you pull you will see that theonly thing holding it is a rubber grommet and a bold going throughit...kinda like what holds the intake tubing on the left radiatorsupport..nothing will break...just have to give a little tug"

Thanks KPSOLJA
