Engine cover painting questions...

Hi guys!

Having a week off, I decided to paint my front grill and also my engine cover.

For all the people who painted the engine cover, did you guys use high temp paint? Did you clear or just painted it?

Basically I just lightly sand it, primer, paint and maybe clear? I want to paint the cover silver. On a black car it will look ok I guess.
