I Have a 93 j30t and my mechanic checked the temp of my radiator hoses and said the line coming in the radiator had the same temp as the one coming out back in to the motor probably 158 degrees. Should there be a difference and if so what would be the fix, b/c he suggested the water pump and or thermostat. thanks for your help.

Sounds like the thermostat has either failed open, or has been removed. This shouldn't baffle a mechanic who's getting paid to do this kind of work.

With proper air flow the radiator should have at least a 10F temperature difference input to output.

Nissan thermostats tend to fail by the runner seal disintergrating allowing too much coolant to bypass [won't warm up in winter].
