I drive a 1.6l Chinese Tiida. I have been getting 24 mpg as my worst so far(4speed AT, city traffic and A/C always on).

Try as I might, I have only been able to get 27 mpg out of the car. Now granted, in China there is no true freeway speed so some discounts vs. the US may be taken...but:

When I asked my dealer he said that the Engine computer runs a richer mix for the first 5,000km and then automatically switches over to a leaner mix.

Anybody can confirm this? I'll report back as I am now beyong this point.

I have also added a CAI and would blame this for my poor gas mileage (driving habits)...

Well first off, people have been claiming that they have been getting pretty bad mileage when they first own the car (break in period). But the CAI is meant to increase your MPG also your HP but driving habits can certainty kill gas mileage for one time i was getting 22 MPG because i was staying on top of my car to hear that sweet noise from the CAI. But i backed off for a while and now i get 27MPG city.

My first Camel got way better mpg at around 6,000 miles... it just jumped up to 33 and stuck there... of course, I traded it at 7600 miles... but still, for 1600 miles I got 33mpg consistently.
